Biographies
Don Christensen, Partner,
Director of Account Services
Don Christensen is one of the few people in the business to actually
hold a college degree in “advertising,” having
graduated from the country’s largest ad school at Michigan
State University. Following graduation, he headed west to work –
initially on the client side – joining the advertising department
of Vivitar International, a major camera and photo products manufacturer
based in Santa Monica, California.
Realizing he was destined for agency work, Don answered
the call to join one of L.A.’s largest shops, Foote, Cone
& Belding (FCB), where he served for several years as an account
executive on the multi-million dollar Hughes Aircraft account, supervising
all account and creative functions.
Eventually, the lure of Madison Avenue got the best
of him, and he moved east, accepting an account supervisor position
at Stiefel/Raymond Advertising in New York City (the Sweet ‘n
Low agency, which was later acquired by HBM/Boston). Don remained
with the agency until it was absorbed by the Creamer organization,
at which time he moved to an account management position at one
of New Jersey’s largest agencies. He then had stints at two
additional shops in New Jersey, where he supervised a diverse array
of award-wining work for clients in the areas of consumer products,
healthcare, electronics, computers, financial, photography and art
products.
Finally, in the fall of 2001, he co-founded what
is today Christensen Tamburri Communications, where he oversees
all client service and business development activities.
Bob Tamburri, Partner,
Creative Director
Bob Tamburri, acclaimed creative director and copywriter, has worked
in the advertising business for over 25 years. He began his career
at Backer Spielvogel Bates Advertising in New York City, working
on the Miller Lite (Tastes Great/Less Filling) account. Bob produced
over 20 commercials in this legendary campaign, including the award-winning
“front row” commercial featuring baseball funnyman Bob
Uecker, as well as commercials with John Madden, Tip O’Neill
and Sparky Lyle, among many others.
Later, he co-created the Miller Genuine Draft “Snow”
campaign, which successfully launched the first cold-filtered beer
into this competitive market, and afterwards adapted the campaign
to include famous rock & roll songs.
Bob also did stints at New York ad agencies Saatchi
& Saatchi, Ammirati Puris and Lowe Lintas. At Saatchi, he created
the international award-winning “Cloud Seat” print/outdoor
ad for British Airways. At Ammirati Puris, Bob headed the Burger
King Kid’s account, creating some of the fast food eatery’s
most successful promotions, with tie-ins to such Disney movies as
The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Toy Story. Other clients he has
worked with over the years include Hyundai Motors, Millington Savings
Bank, Mexico Tourism, Rutgers University, McNeil Pharmaceuticals
and General Mills.
After years of creating award-winning and business-building
advertising at other agencies, Bob co-founded what is today Christensen
Tamburri Communications. Bob is a graduate of Villanova University,
and did post-graduate work at Penn State and The School of Visual
Arts in New York City.
